GET ACTIVE BROWN COUNTY!
We believe that every person in our community should have access to safe and enjoyable places to be active – from walking to school, biking to work, playing on a school playground, or sharing our gyms – we can get everyone up and moving. We will work together to open our facilities to provide adequate space and programming so that all students and community members can be more physically active.
RECREATIONAL USE AGREEMENTS
Live54218 strives to promote increased physical activity in communities through recreational (joint use) agreements by removing barriers to school facilities. Live54218 is offereing free technical assistance to any school district in Brown County that would like to update their Joint Use/Facility Use Policies. To learn more check out JOINT USE- The Open Gym Act (AB 497)
An active classroom incorporates physical activity throughout the day by adding movement into lesson plans, incorporating physical activity into existing curriculum or by taking short activity breaks to allow students to get moving. Physical activity breaks can last anywhere from 3-10 minutes, with longer stretches being incorporated into existing lesson plans. Active Classrooms help students get the 60 minutes of recommended physical activity that they need to stay healthy. Education and Childcare professional can access our Active Classrooms Toolkit for activity ideas.
